Search Engine Optimization and Copy writing Will Help Your Business Grow

Posted on July 3rd, 2008

Author: Kevin Donnelly

Have you got a beautiful website that no one knows is there?

Want more visitors and customers to your website?

Not appearing on the major search engines?

Then you need Search Engine Optimization and Professional Copy writing.

Having the right content and text on your website is essential in today’s highly competitive world.

There are so many websites on the World Wide Web, so many subjects and so many businesses for every single subject that it is getting harder and harder to attract people to yours.

So unless your website contains a Google Whack (and if that means nothing to you can we suggest you check out Dave Gorman’s book of the same name) then sad as it may seem, your site isn’t unique.

As a test of that theory try typing in two random words. Anything you like - the sillier and more unconnected the better. Try ‘kleptomaniacal zebras’, for example. When we Googled that we returned 80 results. 80! All loosely connected to thieving, stripy members of the horse family. Since your site is unlikely to relate to zebras of any description let’s try something a little more likely to feature on a website. Try searching for any product on the Web. Let’s try, for example, ‘black shoes’. When we checked there were 6,790,000 sites listed with that phrase. If shoes are your business and you’re expecting to be found simply on the basis of having an expensive, professional website, then forget it. So are 6,789,999 others. That’s not a needle in a haystack - that’s a grain of sand on a beach.

There is no point in having an all singing all dancing website, with all the right colours and moving bits, if no one ever finds it on the internet. And let’s say that some people do find your website - if the only text they find there is so dull that they fall asleep - just after logging off your website, then you’ve lost the potential customers who do, by some miracle, find your site.

This is where Professional Copy writing and SEO comes in. Working hand in hand these 2 industries will now produce amazing results for your website.

The SEO brings in the visitors and customers that are looking for your products and services, and then the new professionally written content on your website keeps them there and turns them from people about to leave into potential customers.

Studies have shown that customers will buy from a website that is fresh and unique, enjoyably readable and relevant to what they are after. The same studies have shown that these customers will not only return to buy again in the future (as long as you give them the right customer service now you have them there), but are more likely to recommend your website to their friends and colleagues.

Even Google is telling people to provide fresh unique text that changes on a regular basis.

Boring website + boring text = 0 customers. That has to be the easiest calculation you have ever done.

So now you know what to do, how do you go about it.

Search Engine Optimization and Copy writing does not have to be expensive, however there are a lot of bad websites, with bad copy, out there. Make sure you use SEO and copy writing experts who know their onions. Go for the cheaper alternative and you’ll find your lovingly crafted website being optimized by a bunch of guys who’ve only ever had a passing acquaintance with English and haven’t got the first clue what you’re selling, who you are, and what your target audience is.

After all, it has to be worth investing in, to bring visitors and customers to your website instead of your competitors - doesn’t it? Either that or do nothing, and watch your website and business fold in front of your very eyes.

What Professional SEO Can Do

Posted on June 23rd, 2008

Author: Glenn Ford
The amazing thing is that professional SEO services are not expensive and yet they can make a huge difference to any web site or blog, in terms of the traffic and ultimately the revenue they receive..

Professional SEO services can only be provided by an individual or business with a thorough understanding of how search engines work and the implications of the frequent changes the said search engines usually make.

Professional SEO Helps To Grow Traffic
The first and most important thing that professional SEO should do is dramatically increase traffic by ensuring that the client web site is highly visible through a prominent page ranking. A prominent page ranking will mean that the web site will score highly again and again during searches which will in turn guarantee that a sizeable amount of the people carrying out searches using various key words, end up visiting the web site. This can translate to tens of thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of visitors every month.

Professional SEO Will help Sustain A Web Site’s high Ranking
It is true that anybody with some good knowledge on search engines can easily achieve the feat of getting a site to climb up the ranks in key searches and thus direct hordes of traffic to the client web site. But then this is only half the battle. It takes a really professional SEO service to keep a client up there in the rankings. What with the frequent adjustments and changes leading search engines make that have resulted in ruin for many web sites.

The real terror in the hearts of many web masters is waking up one morning and finding that their hard won search engine rankings have evaporated and with it the sizeable daily traffic that makes their sites work.

Professional SEO works hard to ensure that their strategy and game plan will keep the client web site high in search engine rankings for a long time to come. All prospective users should ask any Professional SEO firm for tangible evidence through references. If the SEO firm is any good they will be glad to provide (brag) references to you. If they do, do not take the references at face value. Contact these past or current clients and ask them questions on their level of satisfaction with the SEO firm in question.

Search engine optimization, SEO for short, describes the process where in the volume and quality of online traffic to a particular website derived from search engines are optimized. Internet marketing in the form of SEO, allows businesses to capture a larger consumer base. As such, the main intention behind having a website is to ensure that leads are converted into sales.

When a user queries a particular keyword, the higher up a site ranks, the more traffic a site gets. A website should contain specific keywords that are directly related to the nature of the product or service being offered. As such, the website should be user-related and must contain specific information that is directly relevant to whatever the user is searching for. That way, because of the closeness in match, the site would have a high page ranking.

Internet Marketing Tips, Be Careful When Picking Domain Names

Posted on June 19th, 2008

Author: Steven Wagenheim

I read the funniest forum post this morning. A friend of mine from the Warrior Forum, his name is Stewart McKay, made a post about how he was sending out emails to his list and for some reason the spam assassin score kept coming back 1.4 no matter what he did. Finally, he figured out that it was because of his domain name adwordsexcellence. Can you see why? Yeah, that’s it. Can you believe that? Just because inside the domain name spelled a certain word, he got hit with a spam score. This is why it is so important to be careful when picking out domain names.

Okay, so just how do we go about picking out domain names? Well, for starters, you want a domain name that is going to clearly represent what your product is about. So let’s say that you’re writing a book on how to cure acne naturally. You might want to come up with something like naturalacnecure. What if you’re writing a book on gardening. You might want to come up with something like gardeningtips. Now, a lot of people ask if they should use com, net, org, info, ws or something else. Let’s move on to that next.

There is no denying that dot com is the most common used. The reason is simple. Most people, when they think of a web site, they think of it being dot com. It was the first and it will always be the most commonly thought of. So, if you can get a dot com domain, get it. However, having said that, if the domain that you want is not available and the name is so perfect for your product that you’d be foolish to use anything else, then you’re better off going with net, ws or even tv if you can get it. The name of the domain is more important than the extension.

Finally, as in the case above, please check your domain name to make sure that you don’t have any words in it that can get you into trouble either with spam scores or with the law. Some words are copywrited or patented and they’re not allowed to be used by anyone other than the company. So if you’re going to apply for a domain name with a known company name in it, you might want to think twice about doing it. I’ve read many horror stories about people being sent letters to take down their websites.

If you take care in choosing a domain name, you’ll end up with one that will serve you well for many years to come.

To YOUR Success,

Internet Marketing For Beginners

Posted on June 19th, 2008

Author: Amonzo Upshire

Congratulations on your new web business. Now you will need to focus on internet marketing. You have already found a domain name, secured website hosting, and had your website developed. You have also been working to find a niche product or item to sell. Your website is live but you’re not getting as many customers as you had hoped for. What can be done about that? You could embark on an Internet marketing campaign for your online business. That may sound a little intimidating for a beginner, but it’s easier than you may think! Let’s take a look at some cost effective and fun Internet marketing methods to attract more visitors to your site.

Offer your visitors interesting, informative and fresh content to read while visiting your site. While pictures are nice, you must recognize that most visitors are educated, if not highly educated individuals. Website visitors like reading content that is related to your website. Make sure your content is fresh, meaning new and unpublished. Having fresh content will help your rankings in search engines such as Google and Yahoo!

Your visitors will love having a newsletter from your site delivered to them weekly. You could include specials, coupons, and more free content in each newsletter. Make the newsletters exciting to read! If you lack the necessary skills to write a weekly newsletter about your product, then you could out source a newsletter writer to do that for you. Newsletter writers can be found in abundance on Elance.com, a freelance out sourcing company.

Most email programs offer the option of adding a signature to your outgoing emails. Advertise your site and increase traffic by adding a link to your website and a description of what your website is about. This Internet marketing method affords you the opportunity to make a new customer with each email sent.

Offer your visitors coupons for your products. Your customers and visitors will love the opportunity to receive free products or discounts on some of your most popular and sought after items.

When a customer purchases an item through your shopping cart, cross-sell another item that they will need or may want to have along with the item in the cart. Give suggestions on a few of your items that may go well along with the item that they’ve just purchased. For instance: A bookstore owner cross-sells custom bookmarks with every book that is sold. He also offers the companion book along with it. The possibilities are endless for you when you choose cross-selling as your method of Internet marketing.

Write articles and submit them to directories

This method of Internet marketing has become more popular. Website owners write articles about their particular product or industry and submit them to free directories. But the key to massive Internet traffic is in what is called the “Resource Box”. The resource box is where the author (you) include information about yourself, including your website address. These articles are then blasted all over the Internet and in turn you receive free traffic through your articles.

Place your website address on everything that you have. Stamp it on your utility bills, correspondence, business cards, fliers and more. If you want to give away free samples of your product at flea markets or craft shows, print up some gold or silver labels that have your website address and product information on it. There is no end to the possibilities when using offline promotion to promote your website.

Whatever method you use, take comfort in knowing that if you do your best and are creative in finding ways to market your website, you will have great success. Internet marketing is an art form that can be mastered. Research these methods and others to see which ones fit your needs and budget for your website. There is no guarantee that everything you try will work for you, but some will likely work. The key is finding which Internet marketing method is best for you.
